What we did

Gentian's story at the RVI started in 2005 with the acquisition of the convenience store and café within the Leazes Wing, the original ground floor entrance, directly from the Trust.

Since then the main entrance was redeveloped through a PFI-fund to create a large, multi-level, atrium housing six retail and café units on the ground floor and two restaurant units within the foodcourt on the first floor. Gentian has the sub-lease on the food court direct from the Trust, whilst the ground floor units are sub-underlet from the Project Co.

Gentian sub-let all the units to Compass who trade as Amigo, Costa Coffee, Subway, DeliMarche, Spice of Life, as well as underletting two units to Stock Shop.

Gentian’s in-house estates team manages Compass's occupation including collecting the rents and service charges.
